 A certified Notary Public has all the powers of a Commissioner for Taking Affidavit or Statutory Declaration in Ontario. A commissioner of Oaths is an official authorized by law to take oaths or affirmations concerning legal documents or statements. 

Notaries are regulated under the Notaries Act. Notaries can notarize all legal documents requiring a notary signature and seal.
